I am always honored to give a quote for any nationally recognized publication but talking color, trends, and fashion was especially fun. It was fabulous to see that the editors chose two of my recommendation to publish.

Polar vortex, what? After last winter’s brutal weather, consultant Kate Smith of SensationalColor.com says this sunny shade can be the antidote to any chill in the air this year. “Everyone can benefit from the warmth and happiness created by this golden hue,” Smith says. Try it as an accent piece like a bangle or purse. If you’d rather embrace daffodil fully, combine it with rich textures like the plush topper at Gucci or a deep red sweater that calls to mind the colors of falling leaves.
Unabashedly feminine and strong, pretty pink calls up a vision of Jacqueline Kennedy, who favored this shade, says color trend consultant, Kate Smith. To emphasize its power, use dynamic color partners. Ground it with stormy slate gray, or go bold with juicy pomegranate. If you want to heighten the lightness with cream or pale yellow, opt for pink pieces in double-faced wool or cashmere that look plush and feel cozy.
