I have always thought of glorious Paris in grand colors like gold and black, marble white and green bronze.
However, I recently saw the fabulous Yves Saint Laurent retrospective at the Petit Palais which lasts until August 29th. The show covers forty years of the designer’s creations and ends with the most gorgeous ball gowns in an apogee of color – a combination of elegance and purity of line in candy colored hues.

My color sensors were so alive and stimulated that I started noticing similar brilliant pastel colors all over town.

Indeed, these colors are so delicious, they are good enough to eat!

art and color everywhere…

Have Yves Saint Laurent’s palettes spilled into the streets or have these beautiful colors always been there? … And influenced him? (Apparently, he was inspired by Morocco but what about Paris?)
Either way, they would be exquisite on an evening dress.
And I will never look at Paris the same way again, merci Monsieur Yves!

When I think of Paris, greys come to mind. The buildings, the boulevards, the landmarks,... I love the contrast with the bright graffitis. They make a city feel alive!
