Last Spring I took my first trip to Paris and what I had assumed was true- yes, no matter what the weather, a chic Parisian is never without his/her scarf! The city was scarf crazy! Man, woman- even child, all had an extra layer of “je ne sais quoi” wrapped oh-so-chicly around their necks!

Sete Ki Jaipur scarves in “Ikat” and “Spiderweb chiffon” from Intermix nyc
I returned to the states ready to partake, but with the warmer weather of spring awaiting me at home I found most of my scarves were far too heavy to wear for long.
Thus I waited until cooler weather to live out my Parisian fantasy. And yes, scarves were an important part of my “winter” look. I loved how throwing on a scarf and a big pair of shades made me feel pulled together ( even if I was just running to the market for a gallon of milk in my New York uniform of jeans and snow boots! )
Needless to say- I’m hooked on the added little extra “oomph” and pop of color a scarf brings to the fashion table. Lucky for me this Spring I’m “in luck”. I’ve been spotting a plethora of light, colorful scarves more appropriate to wear with say a tank, white jeans and flip flops then with my woolly parka.
Parisian Spring chic- here I come!

The latest Teen Vogue points out these fun and festive scarves from Madewell 1937.com (apparently the secret love child of J.Crew) and yes- my secret is out, too- I do read Teen Vogue!
Love Quotes-the scarves that have been the accessory du jour for young Hollywood movers and shakers this past year- among their fans: Lauren Conrad, Paris, Lindsey, Nicole- you get the picture. The scarves come in a changing palette- so no color lover is left out. As a little extra fun, each scarf comes with an inspirational quote ( like “It is love alone that gives worth to all things… Mother Theresa ) and 10% of each sale goes to children’s charity. Chic and Sweet.

Colorful beauties from Calypso-Christiane Celle ( shown in morning, periwinkle, robin, aqua, flame and mimosa ) -this is a good fashion lesson on how one style of scarf can be worn six different ways!
Yeah an accessory that is practical and multi-functional!
I’m loving look #3 (robin). How will you be “tying one on” this season?

Trend lovers rejoice ! Even if you don’t have a starlet’s bank account ( or access to fab “swag” events ) you can look just as stylish. This ombre scarf from Forever 21 looks like a million buck and will only set you back an amazing $6.90-no joke! ( I spotted the same one on my oh-so chic friend the other day and believe me-its super cute!)

I have to say that I have become a “fan” of your blog! I may not be able to afford these fantastic scarves but I will enjoy coveting them while wearing my less expensive equivalents. I loved your Charleston post as well. I just moved to San Fran after living my whole life in the South (Mississippi and Tennessee). It makes me long for hot summers and sweet tea!

Thanks Katie for your kind words! You inspired me to add another scarf option to my post- check it out! I’m with you on loving the charm of the south! I plan on making lots of sweet tea this summer and filling my house with the scent of magnolias (even if its just in the form of a candle and linen spray- getting real magnolias isn’t so easy in NYC!)
Congrats on your move to San Francisco- another truly beautiful city! If you ever want to send in pictures of the places there that inspire you- we’d love to post them!
