Remember those black & white Tarzan and Jane movies from the 1930’s and 40’s?

They all began with a beautiful Jane dressed to a tee in full on adventure apparel- usually a stylish khaki pant suit paired with a cute little matching explorer hat. She was the “smart girl” stylishly camouflaged in a foreign land…

…and then by the end of the movie she’s swinging on a vine, swathed in animal skins, bone necklace around her neck- at one with the jungle and animals around her!

That’s how I can best describe the next trend coming our way this Spring–

Home color trends in South Africa

It is always fascinating to me to see how color trends translate in different countries and regions.

In this story on current trends in South Africa, the two designers interviewed are quoted as saying “the opportunity to play with color has arrived so don’t be scared to combine textures and colors” and, in their view, “Bottle green, maroon and navy have been replaced by pillar box red*, white, metallic, naturals and skins.”
