Ray-Ban and Project Colorize

I saw this in my latest issue of Marie Claire and thought I would share:

Five Artist turn a fresh new lens on the season’s hottest trends.

“First introduced in 1952, Ray-Ban Wafarers have become the most instantly recognizable, stylishly iconic sunglasses in the world. This spring, Ray-Ban is re-inventing these glamorous shades by adding an array of colors to their distinctively-shaped frames. To introduce this new line of colored Wayfarers, Ray-Ban and Marie Claire partnered to launch Project Colorize, inviting five of NYC’s hottest artists to create works of art inspired by the season’s fashion trends: Day-Glo, Floral, Painterly, and Tailored.

In keeping with Ray-Ban’s motto, “Never Hide,” Project Colorize will install the artwork on prominent billboards across Manhattan. “

The artist included in this project are Tara McPherson, Ron English, TooFly, Queen Andrea and Scott Alger. “ It’s amazing that Ray-Ban and Marie Claire have given five artist huge canvases around the city and creative freedom to comment on and participate in the fashion trends on the street,”graffitti artist Queen Andrea tells the magazine.

artist Queen Andrea…goes on to say”Color is a tool to catch the eye, to make people pay attention.”

I haven’t spotted any of the billboards yet- but when I do I will post about them ( or if you see them first-let me know). Meanwhile I’m loving the idea of a pair of violet colored wayfarers!   SensationalColor.com

I love these sunglasses! Needing to wear prescription glasses, I only have one pair of sunglasses . . . but after seeing these I may have to have two pairs.
