Pantone’s Must-Have Color Trends for Fall 2010

Even though Kiki and I spend a  fair amount of time researching and forecasting color trends, I still enjoy reading what others have to say about each season’s trends.

I was reminded of this yesterday when I got a call from a new client.  She told me that she had been using the Pantone fashion color report to do her buying but as she said, “It is good but can’t replace having your expertise about which of these trends are important for my product lines.”  Gee, thank you!  How nice plus it did prompt me to take another look at their report for Fall 2010.

Then coincidentally today I received a newsletter from my friend Paul Half of Half2.com and he mentioned this online version.  Was the universe reminding me to share this trends information with you again?

Well just in case here are a few links to get you tuned into Fall Fashion 2010 even though at the moment you are probably very happily storing away your fall/winter garb in favor of shorts and flip flops.

For this fall I especially like the purple, gold, woodbine and rose dust. I think color trend reports are great guidelines for shopping. It's an amazing way for all of us to enjoy the expertise from professionals like you.

Loved your article. Lagoon. Lagoon is a wonderful color that brings life to people and a room. Pair it with olive, white, turquoise, black, brown, blues... and it is one of the most versatile colors that is basically ignored. I LOVE using this color in my wardrobe as well as using eclectic, fun, shiny jewelry pieces to set off classic wardrobe pieces in these colors. It's a classic color that makes blondes look vibrant, brunettes stunning, and a warm redhead beautiful. Just wear it with the right color family for your skin and eye tone and you're set. I've been complimented for over 25 years wearing the same earrings with these colors because these colors pop when worn together. The right color combinations are key. True style and the right colors ARE NEVER OUTDATED and are absolutely timeless, year in, year out. When you find the 'right colors' for you, buy the accessories in the colors you like, so you can use them 'forever', and wear them with neutrals or complimentary pieces in 'off' fashion years. IMHO. I am 51 and by fluke, this is what I did. Earrings always fit. :D The majority of the time, so do most necklaces, bracelets, purses, and scarves. Leather goods do not always age well, so store properly. (PS, I am no fashion guru, I just like what I like and take care of it. And as a hair colourist for over thirty years, I see color well, I think.)
