The Gap and Pantone are helping to make the world ( or at least NYC) a more colorful place… one t-shirt at a time.
“Combining the popularity of Gap’s iconic t-shirts and the power of the worldwide color authority’s energetic shades, Gap and Pantone today announced the opening of a color-filled t-shirt shop in Gap’s rotating concept venue adjacent to its flagship store at 54th and 5th Ave. The Gap & Pantone T-Shop will be open today through Sunday, Feb. 8. The shop will feature a full palette of Gap tees from Gap’s upcoming spring collection in true PANTONE® Colors, including a limited-edition tee in Mimosa, Pantone’s color of the year for 2009, available only at the Gap & Pantone T-Shop.”
“We wanted to create an explosion of color and bring some warmth and optimism to our customers,” said Patrick Robinson, executive vice president of design for Gap Adult and gapbody. “Mixing Pantone’s vibrant colors with Gap’s signature t-shirts gives everyone an opportunity to find the perfect tee they can mix and match for their own personal style.”
I love Patrick Robinson… a genius pairing of designer and label. A quick look into his Spring collection: he does not fear color!!!
The best part, since Pantone now offers a complete line of home paints… you literally can match your walls to you’re favorite shirt!

What a fun and bright idea. I especially love that rather than the color’s name they have the Pantone number.
I’m going to whip out my fanguide right now and decide which colors to buy.
Wow!
My designers friends and I have allaways played with the pantone codes saying “today I’m wearing 281 blue t-shirt”
Now we can get it! Well, just going to NY
If we have here in Brazil these king of store it will great!!
