I was said to hear the news that the magazine Oprah at Home was closing shop…. I thought it was a fun magazine with a nice mix of styles and in true Oprah- fashion fantastic featured products each month. This bad economy is really getting uglier by the minute!!!
So with only a few minutes to spare at Grand Central yesterday I indulged in one of my favorite ‘alone time’ treats and quickly peaked around the Hudson newsstand- of course once I saw the latest and last new shiny issue of O at Home was focusing on COLOR- I had to buy it.
The issue is filled with some great advice and also some great colorful gifting ideas.
Loving these violet cabinets with blue accents against a white wall- kind of a fresh spin on ‘Swedish style’.
This is an idea that I will be trying ( maybe even later today- I’ll let you know ) white matte spray paint turns flea market finds into instant objects d’art!
Another great painting trick to turn an eyesore into ‘eye candy’- be sure though to use paint that can take high heat- here they used BEHR’s Premium Plus.

Very cool ideas. I high heat spray painted my heater. It was a horrible silver blue eyesore. Now it falls back and the room looks bigger. Their is still a hint of blue coming form the interior of the heater and that looks nice.
** spray painting inside is MESSY. Need lots of tarps and spray fast!!
