My Fave Sensational April Fool’s Day Pranks…

#1 The best prank I’ve seen so far is the one from Google but be careful since if you aren’t paying attention you might miss it.

Google changed their name to Topeka.  Because it is in the same font and colors we automatically associate with Google some might miss the joke.

I love this prank because it is based on something that really happened not just some completely fabricated story.  Here’s a bit of the inside story from the official Google blog:

Early last month the mayor of Topeka, Kansas stunned the world by announcing that his city was changing its name to Google. We’ve been wondering ever since how best to honor that moving gesture. #2 As a regular visitor to the Whole Foods Market super store I no longer call it grocery shopping  I now refer to it as a “2 hour, 200 dollar shopping experience.”   You can bet I loved that the folks at Whole Foods poked a little bit of fun at themselves as well as all of us organic foodies that shop there.

#3 If you hadn’t had your morning coffee or caffeinated beverage of choice this CNN Health report posted on PenguinPete.com may have jolted you awake this morning.  It gives new meaning to the “Starbuck’s Effect” huh?

Of course Starbucks has their own brand of foolery with two new sizes: the Plenta and the Micra.  Love the two pic of the two guys.

Honorable mention: A past favorite that I’ve blogged about before City Officials Push to Make Green a Primary Color but it still makes me smile.
