Okay, just got my first look at the first lady-elects day choice…. on tv it looked green in this photo it looks more gold- one thing is for sure it’s glittery!
Okay, just found it’s actually ‘lemongrass’. Designer Isabel Toledo is being quoted as saying:
“I wanted to pick a very optimistic color, that had sunshine,” she said. “I wanted her to feel charmed, and in that way would charm everybody.”
The big reveal- an ivory chiffon dress by 26 year old designer Jason Wu. I have yet to hear why he choose the color ( perhaps a little bow to other stylish first lady’s- Jackie and Nancy )… but did hear him talking via phone on CNN that he designed the dress to have a feeling much like that of the Obama presidency- of ‘hope and newness’ with a ‘dream like feel’.
I like that description of her white dress. . . I thought her colour choices were quite perfect actually.
