Day 1 of a 3 day photo series. Starting with a glimpse of the new textile collections for Dedar and Creations Metaphores. Both reveal a 2010 trend for large scale prints, bold color pairings, denim blue, and neutrals that shimmer shimmer shimmer.

I found myself smack dab in the middle of Deco Off, a first ever to hit the lively and chic city of Paris.

Located not far from Dedar is the Creations Metaphores showroom, a subsidiary of the textile holding of Hermes. Located on 5 rue Fuerstenberg, the company houses three distinct and unique collections within: Le Crin, Metaphores, and Verel de Belval.

A peak through the doorway into the only quiet time had by this quaint showroom.

Once more, we were faced with bold patterns, this time representing a three dimensional spiral known as ANAMORPHOSE. A neutral shade is shown here, but other colorways promise a bold pop as window treatment.

Denim blue is a trend I have witnessed in my travels. Here you see a linen and wool blend known as PAVOT from the Metaphores collection. Draped on top for added flair is a bundle of horse hair, which is used to develop the textiles in the Le Crin collection.

Also from the Metaphores collection, and purposely developed by creator Olivier Nourry to match the other textiles in the same collection, is FOLIES. This linen stripe can be made to coordinate.

More soft blue shades are evident at Creations Metaphores, but this time, it incorporates the shimmer I adore. Textile with square pattern is Empire State (yes inspired by NYC’s famous landmark), which is wool stitched on polyester taffeta.

Just opposite to Empire State, again in a washed out denim hue, is Brooklyn! They were separated by a third fabric, but I failed to look at the name, dare I say it was called the East River!!
This is a super fabric because it is reversible and is made by joining two pieces of same color taffeta in a lamination process. The result is this nifty ripple effect.

And finally, there it was, the shimmer shimmer shimmer! This shimmer, however, drops the ball on all the others. Known as MANHATTAN for it’s obvious glitz, it is made of 100% linen, and gets its look through a metallic wax overlay that is then sealed with a clear film for a glossy finish. WOW!

Such gorgeous patterns and colors — FABULOUS! Love them all but especially Empire State and Anamorphose.
