I’ve been living a busy and “colorful” life this month making me a tad bit late with the round up of my favorite magazines…. so before we jump into surrounding ourselves with the beauty of May’s flowers let’s take a look back and let April’s issues “shower” us with color inspiration!

bazaar1.jpgbaazar2.jpg

Harper’s Bazaar looks at “Couture In Bloom”, “dainty and delightful, the finest in fashion pops up like a candy-colored kaleidoscope this spring”…this pairing of a fuchsia Versace Atelier gown set against this bright yellow backdrop blows me away!
coastal1.jpgcoastal2.jpg

I love the idea of adding a few bright pieces to update my home this summer, this selection from Coastal Living has me on a quest to buy two of the orange side tables from Shineeveryday.com to use as night stands in my boudoir.

cookie1.jpgcookie2.jpg

Cookie has a cute spread about painterly fashion in this months issue, but it was the funky vintage inspired bright yellow dress on the little miss that caught my eye- it’s from J.Crew Crewcuts- too cool!

countryhome1.jpgcountryhome2.jpg

Country Home shows off how the thoughtful use of color can freshen up even the tiniest of cozy cottages- this one comes in at a quaint 929 sq. foot.

domino1.jpgdomino2.jpg

I am obsessed with the NYC back yard of Miles Redd, here Domino takes a look at the inspiration behind his genius outdoor decor!

elle1.jpgelle2.jpg

I just had to include this layout from Elle magazine comparing Springs hottest fashions with flower arrangement… it looks eerily a lot like a similar post I did back in February- I guess great trend following minds think alike… what do you think?

elledecor1.jpgelledecor2.jpg

I can’t get enough of ikat… I’m determined to find the perfect patterned fabric to make drapes out of for my dining room …. this round up from Elle Decor is inspiring.

glamour1.jpgglamour2.jpg

This layout from Glamour focuses on this Springs brightest, hottest makeup…. and even though it’s her hot pink lips they are tauting I’m more drawn to her yellow nails and clothes… hum, yellow again… I guess I’m in the need for some bright yellow in my life this week

housebeaut1.jpghousebeaut2.jpg

I was so on the fence when I renovated my kitchen as to whether to use soap stone for my counter tops…. I was convinced that granite was a better long term choice… this kitchen from House Beautiful used honed blue granite to create the same effect as soapstone, without the worries- I am in love and will be keeping this page as inspiration for my next renovation.

living1.jpgliving2.jpg

Speaking of kitchen renovations… wouldn’t this page from Living that shows all the different type of edible eggs make an awesome palette inspiration for a kitchen!

marieclaire1.jpgmarieclaire2.jpg

I just bought my first piece of ombre/tiedyed clothing… I think it’s going to be one of my favorite pieces of the summer. Marie Claire has some great suggestions on the trend.

met1.jpgmethome2.jpg

Like the theory on pink, I always think every room needs a little purple…. it’s so glamorous… Metropolitan Home takes a look at the use of pale purple as a neutral color in home decor.

more1.jpgmore2.jpg

Everyone likes a little color in their lives, and in the warmer months on their faces as well- More magazine takes a look at the best way to get a little “safe” glow this Spring.

southernaccents1.jpgsouthernaccents2.jpg

You have to love New Orleans- one of the most colorful cities in the USA, Southern Accents takes a look at those determined to rebuild their communities one colorful building at a time… ” though there is every reason to feel drab, the facades of resurrected houses assert a palette that is luscious and playful.”

vogue1.jpgvogue2.jpg

There is not too much to say about this amazing color styling from this Christian Lacroix couture gown featured in Vogue other than “Wow!”

vogueliving1.jpgvogueliving2.jpg

Last but not least this image from the Spring addition of Vogue Living is my newest palette inspiration… I love deep red and muted blues together so much it’s the palette in my son’s bedroom… but this shows me pairing the colors together would be awesome everywhere in my house… oh no, I feel a make-over coming on!!!!!
