In honor of President’s Day ( and because a friend asked me to help her pick out a new palette for the exterior of her house and I’m craving some inspiration ) I thought it would be fun to do a quick round up of the exterior colors of some of our country’s most famous presidential homes – outside the White House that is… some simple, some bold ( love the shutter color- FDR!), some massive and some just so darn Americana you can’t help but hum the National Anthem and crave apple pie as you’re transformed back to a simpler time just looking at them…

Interesting to see the colour combinations of each house! Great post on some famous places!
Love the round up Julie and of course it includes my very favorite Presidential estate Mount Vernon….acres and acres of waterfront within driving distance of DC and Old Town Alexandria…and for as lacking in color as it is on the outside the inside makes up for it. You might recall my post from my visit there last summer Colors of Mount Vernon
Sagamore is another favorite!
What fun to see homes as different as the men that occupied them.
