Creations Metaphores goes outdoors

This past summer I had the great treat of meeting and interviewing Olivier Nourry, the creative genius behind the Creations Metaphores brand. In case you don’t know Creations Metaphores is the subsidiary textile holding of Hermes- so you know the fabrics are nothing less than luxurious.  We talked color, textures and materials – his Le Crin collection is a line of fabrics made up of natural fibers weaved together with horse hair- must be seen and felt to be believed.  As we perused his wonderful collections inside the D&D building, he was charming, oh-so interesting and I have to say quite nice at not making too much fun of my complete inability to even pronounce his name with a faux French accent.  My video interview with Mr. Nourry will soon be up on our homepage- I’ll keep you posted!

I just caught a glimpse at his newest fabric line ‘The Robinson Cursoe Collections’, his first endeavour with outdoor fabrics- eco friendly ones at that.  The color palette, in true Creation Metaphores tradition, is vivid and lush and draws it’s inspiration from non other than the great outdoors.  Here’s a quick peak:

I love the cute drawings that came in the press kit- so chic, so French!

Fidgi

Vanuta

Hawai

Oh the colors!  My indoor furniture would be so jealous.  Hawai and Vanuta are both made from the world famous Sunbrella weft- which is both safe for skin and the enviroment-plus super durable to the elements. The fidgi collection is a stretchy jersey fabric, perfect for cusions and outdoor pillows, is super soft and strong- perfect for lounging on deck.  Yacht not included.

Check out their website to see all of the beautiful fabrics they have to offer- This collection will be made available soon- through the trade.
