As if I don’t already spend way to much time with fiddling with technology…Sherwin Williams has to offer up a free IPhone App that I just can’t resist! Color Snap- a fast, fun and colorful way to get your inspiration juices flowing.
A walk in the park, a night on the town an exotic vacation or even a jaunt to the grocery store- I say can all provide instant color inspiration!
a recent trip to NYC’s Chinatown had my color cravings working overtime -from that perfect red of a corner shop, a golden foo dog and to the greatest shade of aubergine ever! If only I had my Color Snap that day!
And now with this handy little color tool you can actually put a name to the color ( or at least get a step in the right direction towards finding that perfect color) before you even step foot into the paint store.
Will my oregano be as yummy on my walls as it is in my pasta sauce?
It’s super easy to use. You simply choose Camera…snap your pix….move your finger around the image until the color you like best appears ( I like that you have control out of exactly which shade you like best) and then touch the Palette for the details. Your inspiration color appears along with 2 other coordinating Sherwin Williams colors that make creating a room palette- we’ll dare I say it – a snap!
A quick walk around my garden and I can already picture a room inspired by the colors of early summer that would keep me feeling warm and alive come the dreaded days of deep frosty February.
Every June I become insane for peonies…now I know that perhaps Exuberant Pink SW 6840 will mimic it’s beauty both inside and out ( since Color Snap also let’s me know that its available in both interior and exterior paint)
I wanted to know a little more about my color choices so I went directly onto their website and look up my peony pink. The same palette came up, but whats fun here is you can make the secondary colors the main color and you are then provided with colors that coordinate with them…soon you have a whole range of colors to create really interesting palettes.
OH, no-this is too fun. I am totally sensing what little free time I have left being simply ’snapped’ away….

WHAT THE..??? WOW I had no idea this was available. Very cool. I think your dahlias would be a great color somewhere.
