My friend Ana is what I like to call ‘a good consumer’. She is nothing if not meticulously always on top of the latest and greatest everything. The best thing about Ana’s keen eye is when she finds something of good value and fabulous style she loves to share with her friends.
I had just been telling Ana last week about my battle with a crop of random gray hairs that have become the bane of my existence as of late. Five or so pesky, alien strands that have cropped up this year- not enough perhaps for others to notice… but enough to have literally almost had me ‘driving up a wall’ when I caught site of them in my rear view mirror the day before.
So when Ana phoned me up yesterday and said she had found the perfect product to solve my woes and that I should write about it as well… I know it’s gotta be good!
She had just tried Oscar Blandi Pronto Colore Root Touchup and Highlighting Pen ( $23-in Neutral Brown ) for the first time. Her review: a little thicker than other instant root touch up colors that she had used in the past, so it took a little more time and practice to get the hang of it… but the coverage was great. Looks like “I just added a few highlights to my hair”, she told me. Plus Ana liked how the thickness of the product gave her a little bit of that ’second day after washing’ texture that makes styling medium/long hair easier.
The pen is available in five shades through Sephora ,who by the way according to their customer review comments has a very friendly ‘return policy’- hum, good to know.
Instant, portable, waterproof and affordable- perfect for those of us not ready to commit to the cost and upkeep of more drastic salon measures.
Oscar Blandi ( stylist to the stars ) give a few tips for choosing the perfect color over on his home site:
-“To create natural looking highlights, go one to two shades lighter than your natural hair color.”
-”Instantly illuminate your complexion by adding face-framing, golden blonde highlights.“
-“Add depth and dimension to dark brown or black hair with warm, auburn highlights.”
Looks like it will be ‘Warm Reddish Brown’ for me. Thanks Oscar! I’m feeling brighter already ( oh, and my car’s front bumper thanks you as well ).
