Best In Color: July Week 4

shu-umera

Manga artist and beauty expert Moyoco Anno has teamed with Shu Umemura to create a limited edition color and packaging scheme that will leave even the most conservative among us longing to be a Harajuku girl.  The tokyo kamon girls collection, which includes five beauty oils, a cool white makeup box and brush set retails from $65-$500 ( makeup box).  Each oil features a different character and design color combo- each with their own unique meaning.  How will we pick just one, Sailor Moon?

bicycle

A fantastically colorful way to lower your carbon footprint this summer!  Design your own bike ( love how this one takes it’s color clues from it’s surroundings!)  Urban Outfitters and Republic Bikes have teamed up to offer customer’s a virtual online build-a-bike factory.  The one speed Aristotle 1.5v is built within 7 days of your order and shipped directly to you.  Starting at $399- I have a feeling I’ll be seeing more than just a few of these colorful wheels zooming down the streets of NYC.

missoni-2Fashion as it relates to art…sounds right up my alley!  An exhibition at the Estorick Collection in Nothern London entiltled Workshop Missoni- Daring To Be Different, highlights the fashion Company’s love and use of bold colors and patterns throughout their history. The pieces are displayed to show how Missoni designs have long been influenced and intertwined with what is happening in the world of modern Italian art- the show runs through Sept.20th.

It's really awesome!

I liked the bike most of all - will try to paint my own bike exactly this way =)

I too am often inspired by fruits, vegetables and all kinds of foods as you have probably seen on other posts. People seem to instantly connect with the names and combinations. Bonnie Krimms has always called her palettes color recipes and she has "cooked up" some great schemes too. Thanks for sharing your site with us.

Beautiful!
I love your color inspirations. I get mine from food. Look on my web, click on "Color Recipes©" for a delicious way to choose color schemes.

OK, I want that Missoni sweater. Maybe not so tight, but definitely the color and pattern. Very witty exhibit. Thanks for sharing!

Color can really make you happy - that bike brought a smile to my face.

Gorgeous, gorgeous and more gorgeous Julie - love the bottles, the bikes and the Missoni.....Happy weekend, xv.
