Last year, Anya Hindmarch’s limited edition “I am not a plastic bag” caused such a fashionista frenzy, the bag which originally sold for around 5 pounds in the UK was by the end of the last summer fetching prices in the hundreds on Ebay!
Now the market for eco-friendly shoppers bag has exploded, as designers and stores are discovering consumers are willing to forgo their choice of “paper or plastic”- and bring their stylish own.
And as is usual in the case of buying a trendy bag- how much you are willing to spend to save the Earth is up to you.

Milliner Eugenia Kim, perhaps best known for making funky hats for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Madonna, has joined forces with Coach this summer.
Her latest line for the mega company has just hit the shelves and with a ‘roaring 20’s meets East Village’ style- these toppers will have you feeling like a guest at some fabulous Gatsby-esque party.

I love discovering new beauty products. I especially love discovering products that make me feel just as good on the inside as they do on the outside. Oh and when “said” products also come in user friendly, beautiful hues- well basically at that point, I’m ecstatic!
I guess you could then call Peacekeeper Cause-metics a triple threat in my book.

Happy Memorial Day! The perfect time to try on yet another fantastic summer trend, the pairing of navy, white and red.
This time honored color combination is being rediscovered from the runways of Chanel to the fabulous racks at Targets. Pair the colors with either stars or stripes motifs and you can take the look nautical, boho and even if you dare super hero fabulous!
Best part -your navy, red and white acquisitions of Spring can easily be paired with solid black everything come Fall. ( oh, you are so already way ahead of the trend! )

Over the last few weeks I’ve been diligently working away on my soon to be released Nail Color Now report ( more about this soon! ), and have been spending a lot of time of late not only looking at the amazing range of hues we have to choose from, but also the ways in which we can use the colors of our nails to make a fashion statement.
So when I opened up the Style section of the NY Times yesterday and saw that their top story was reporting on the trend of wearing chipped nail polish, I took note.

You may have thought you would never be able to afford owning an original piece of art by the likes of Kenny Scharf, Chuck Close, Kiki Smith, Barbra Kruger or Jeff Koons- but thanks to the Gap and a brilliant collaboration with New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art- you may find yourself instead wearing an entire collection of Contemporary Artists.
In honor of this year’s Whitney Biennial, the Gap has asked an array of American artists (some participating in the 2008 show- some who have shown in in previous Biennials ) to put their art where their t-shirt is. (more…)

The annual Chelsea Flower show is underway this week in London. The famed show, considered by most to be the creme de la creme of floral exhibition, gives awesome insight into the biggest trends for gardening and arranging.

In true “Carrie Bradshaw” fashion, actress Sarah Jessica Parker caused quite a stir as she strolled down the red carpet at last week’s London premier of her much anticipated “Sex and the City” movie.
Wearing an Alexander McQueen dress topped off with a surreal floral and peacock feathered hat designed by famed English milliner Philip Treacy, Ms. Parker appeared to be channeling her inner Isabella Blow.

The two thing that worry me the most about the upcoming summer season are (1.) not applying enough SPF and (2.) not applying enough bathing suit ( as the hundreds of hours I have logged on my computer this winter have left my waist feeling a little less than “whittled”)
Lucky for me, according to the New York Times Fashion & Style page, the sun appears to be in RETROgrade - as the trendiest styles and colors for suits this year are a colorful blast from the past. Higher boy-cut bikini bottoms, halter styled tops, ruched one pieces- suits that will have you channeling your inner-pinup girl while embracing your outer curves!

They say a leopard can’t change it’s spots, but apparently that theory doesn’t hold true to zebras.
As you can imagine I was jumping for joy when I opened up the latest issue of House Beautiful magazine and discovered that two of my favorite trends for home this summer- bright, bright hues and zebra print motifs have merged together into one brilliant trend!
Check out these cute products, beautifully put together by The Peak of Chic blog site, that they give as example…
