In the Winter of 2006 I made the exciting discovery that my sister Kate was writing a blog called Sensational Color. I must admit I knew very little about blogs let alone why anyone in their right mind would want to write one. For me reading online meant little more than checking my e-mails or perusing my favorite websites for sales. What Kate was doing was curious and utterly fascinating to me. She had created a place where she could share her love and years of professional color knowledge with whomever wanted to read and learn more about it- and I thought that was very cool.
Having studied Fine Arts and working as a fashion stylist at the time, I had a pretty good grip on the incredible role color can play in one’s life. After all color is everywhere. In some cases we control these colors, in others we don’t. Regardless, I knew through my own professional and personal experiences that a bit of color knowledge, a dash of inspiration and some confidence was all it really took to unleash it’s incredible power.
So when Kate decided to turn her little blog into a big website I suggested that maybe I would have a go at writing my own blog. While she would provide color knowledge on Sensational Color and colorful know-how on her blog Color For Your Home, I could focus on what I loved most- color and lifestyle. In the Spring of 2007 Live In Full Color was officially launched and my journey into the blogging world began.
Since then Live In Full Color has evolved into what it is today- a place where I (along with Kate and my two other stylish ’sisters-in-crime’ Kimberlin Brown and April Clark) can put our own fresh spin on the colorful trends, inspirations and news happening in the world of fashion, beauty, home, garden, art, science, travel and design.
‘Live In Full Color’ is our creed. It’s our philosophy- a belief that color should be a fun and accessible part of everyone’s life. If our blog makes you think twice before you pick the color of a new lipstick, coat or car- tunes you into a new designer, artist, city or simply makes you look at color in some completely new way, then our blog is a success.
