I started my career in the Interior Design industry obtaining a formal education, completing the University of Alberta Residential Interior Design Program. I have a passion for color – Color Theory, Color Forecasting and Color Psychology — all the while pouring over paint fan decks and dabbling with “color as paint” part-time as a Color Consultant at Benjamin Moore.
To further my color knowledge and expertise, I completed the Maria Killam Color Training Program obtaining the title of “Color Expert” as well as Kate Smith’s “Sensational Color” Certification for Color Consultants.
I also have education in other areas including: Space Planning, 3D Plan Drawings, Manual Drafting, Lighting and Furniture History.
I formed design palette after completing the certificate program at the University of Alberta. I enjoy working with clients wanting a full design, color consultations, help with plan drawings, as well as working with those in need of just those magical finishing touches.
Design Palette Services:
Interior Design Services can take on many different forms…Whether you are looking to design a new home, renovate an existing one, or decorate a room or rooms, these are all aspects of what design services look like.
Have you been overwhelmed by trying to figure out what furniture, draperies, lighting or flooring would be right for your space? design palette can help you narrow down the endless choices and create a plan that is right for you, your home and your lifestyle.
Design services can also be teaming up with the right trades people so that your project comes to completion-on budget-and on time! Coordinating carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc. can be difficult and time consuming…letting a professional organize and oversee your project can result in peace of mind.
Choosing the right color can be a very difficult thing to do. Putting a number of colors together can be even more confusing; “why does this color look dirty?”, “why does it look wrong when it looked so right at the paint store?”, “does it look right with the other colors I’ve chosen?”….these are some of the questions that can cause one to hesitate or even give up.
Obtaining a professional Color Consultation can take the mystery out of color choices. At design palette, educating the client about color and helping them to understand why those particular colors are “right” for the application is key.
A Color Consultant will consider all your fixed elements, your furnishings, the flow of your rooms, and the undertones of all involved.
A Color Consultation can help take a space from “satisfactory” to “spectacular”
2D & 3D Plan Drawings
Has anyone ever said to you, “picture this…” and you really can’t? 2-Dimensional Plan drawings are wonderful tools to assist in visualizing changes proposed to a space. 3-Dimensional Drawings are an even better way to enable one to see “what can be”.
At design palette, 3-D drawings can be made for a number of design projects:
* space planning
* changes in furniture and accessories
* renovations to a space
* trying out Color Options for a room(s)
Whatever your project, 2-D or 3-D drawings can be a good investment to ensure that you have the vision and the guess-work is taken out of the equation.
