My color inspiration for today comes from this photo of the Obama family. It caught my eye not only because it is a very handsome photo of the now first family but because of how the wardrobe creates a lively color harmony.
Starting at the bottom of the color wheel you see a traditional analogous color scheme–violet/blue-violet/blue– made lively with the addition of the color two steps away–yellow-green.
While a traditional analogous harmony would have worked bringing in the yellow-green gives an energy and youthfulness to the entire family.
Think how much less interesting this photo would be without that pop of color.
