Today I headed to Bethesda to see my friend Karen Lukinson present her thoughts on colors for home interiors at the regional library.
Karen has a color consulting business called Newton Lights. The company namesake is Sir Isaac Newton who demonstrated that white light is the combination of all of the colors of the rainbow.
Using the six colors of the rainbow, Karen has created over one hundred colors. Each contains the three primary colors, red, yellow and blue; and the three secondary colors, green, orange and violet, plus, in some instances, red oxide and/or yellow oxide.
The audience was very interested in learning about full spectrum paint and seeing examples of how Karen had used it in the homes of her clients. They were also very engaged in asking questions about color for their own homes.
It is always interesting to learn about someone else’s thought process and fun to hear them talk about color. I’m glad it worked out that I could.
