I’m rarely surprised by how smart or capable my friends are. Still every once in a while one of them does something I find truly amazing. Today, is a perfect example.
One of my closest friends received a Certificate of Graduate Study this afternoon from The Institute of World Politics at a time in her life when I wondered when she had time to sleep no less complete a very demanding program.
A few short years ago achieving this goal was a dream she shared with me over dinner. Since that evening life has challenged her convictions to complete the program many times. Just about anyone else might have given up their dream or at least put it on hold and no one would have thought any less of them for that decision.
As I watched her walk with her class I couldn’t help but think about how completely awed I am by her determination and ability to have stayed the course. What an inspiration!
How honored I am to have a friend who is also my hero!
