Kate’s Expertise

Kate Smith is a color expert. Driven by a personal passion for color, and using knowledge gained over a career in color trend forecasting, Kate has achieved her unique color expertise. Delivering inspirational keynote addresses that give insight into this inner world of color, Kate shares her knowledge and sense of wonderment with all audiences.

Kate has spoken in front of groups of both professionals and consumers at many events including the House Beautiful Color Institute, the Color Marketing Group International Conference, Clairol Herbal Essence Press Event, and the Highpoint Furniture Market.  Kate has also been a featured speaker at Inter-Society Color Council Conference, L’Oreal Learning for Development, the Capital Speakers Club and the Las Vegas Furniture Market.

Kate has a featured column on HomeFurnishings.com, and her writing has been featured in House Beautiful (Sept 2009), Color Marketing Group Color Chips Magazine, in-Cosmetics Trade Show Collateral, a series of articles for interior designers and architects for Evonik, RoomVues.com, and Kitchens.com.

Kate is an industry expert and sits on the Armstrong Design Council on Color and the Board of Advisors for Mood Factory and Tru-Hue.  Kate’s quotes and interviews regularly appear in major newspapers and popular magazines. Kate has been seen in House Beautiful, the Washington Post Special Color Section, Miami Sun Sentinel, the Chicago Tribune Home Section, the Boston Globe and appeared on CBS Sunday Morning and the Christopher Lowell Show.
