I’m not sure that even this fabulous color scheme would convince me that the words “fun” and “taxes” belong in the same sentence.
I do like their unconventional color scheme however and it inspired me to look for other images in blue and violet. (more…)

I enjoy browsing Flickr to see what catches my eye and today it was this photo of Fragment of “No. 5 / No. 22″, Mark Rothko, 1950, MOMA, NY.
Even among dozens of photos I was immediately drawn to this one but considering how much I enjoy Rothko paintings I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
I think this is a beautiful warm color palette.

Check out the Multicolr Search Lab by idee. It a web tool that enables you to search by colour through 10 million creative commons images from Flickr.
Idée’s Piximilar technology allows you to choose up to 10 colors from a palette of 120 different shades and is “must try” tool if you want a quick way to find photos with a particular color scheme.

Today’s Flickr photo find is from Goodcryst. I like the way the bright colored balls create repetition and contrast against the middle ground of black, white and sand. Also the red cap on the young girl in the foreground and the two red balls above really draw my eye into the picture.
