I just received the invitation to the Color Marketing Group 2009 CMG Asia Pacific Region conference which is being held in Hong Kong, Feb 27-March 1st 2009.
Last year I attended the Asia Pacific meeting in Jaipur, India and had a wonderful time plus learned so much about the colors of the region. I’m hoping to attend again this year.
It has been several years since I’ve been to Hong Kong but have always enjoyed being there. The official Hotel for the meeting is the Excelsior Hotel, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong and I’ve stayed there before and it is quite nice.
The Trend Speakers session will take place at the hotel and the color forecasting workshops will be held in the corporate office of Sincere Creates and Manufactures Ltd, Kwai Chung. NT. Hong Kong.
Outings are planned to markets and Furniture Design showrooms. A group dinner will be held in the private dining room at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. I think this sounds like a wonderful learning opportunity as well as a great time.
In these days of financial turmoil the world over, a creative edge is key to maintaining a business edge over competitors and I find that it is very important to learn from the shared experiences of the other attendess as we develop the color forecast palette for 2011-12, which will become a critical tool in future product developments across all industries.
The meeting is open to both CMG and non-CMG memers at a cost of US$ 350.00. Further information will be available from CMG shortly.

Hi Kate,
I met you at last year’s Jaipur color conference. I was one of the three people from Qatar. I wanted to come to this years color conference but it is at a time that won’t work this year. However, I was then thinking that I might try to take a group of 6 students from my color theory freshmen class to see the places that the color conference goes. Do you think you could tell me where the forecasting group will go while in Tokyo? (museums? color-pertinent places)
