The new neutral schemes you’ll be seeing in 2012/2013 will mix neutrals with different undertones but when it comes to selecting the permanent elements in a room – backsplash, tiles, countertops, etc – using materials with the same undertone is still the way to go. Save experimenting with mixing neutrals with different undertones for other elements in the room.
