I have often received calls from home decorators who have painstakingly tried to find the perfect color match in fabrics or accessories to no avail. While I do appreciate their dedication to their decorating project the first thing I tell them is to stop looking. Not only is it frustrating but matching exactly tends to flatten the look of a room.
It may seem counterintuitive however blending shades and tints of similar hues adds more depth and interest to any room plus gives it a more professionally decorated appearance.
So don’t worry when you can’t find the perfect match. Simply put together colors that are visually pleasing together.
