Exterior Colors For Southwest Style

A terra cotta colored roof can call to mind the casual and rustic style of the southwest even if your home isn’t in that beautiful part of the country.  The earthy shades that speak to the rich culture and the picturesque desert landscape will add the warmth of the desert to any home.

To get you started thinking about southwestern color schemes I’ve put together a few of my favorite desert-inspired Sherwin-Williams colors that harmonize with the DaVinci Roofscapes Sonora standard blend imitation slate roofing.

DaVinci Sonora and Southwestern Colors from Sherwin WilliamsSandy beige or tan are colors right out of the desert landscape so adding color on the roof and a punch of color at the front door can keep a home from blending into the background. Sonora imitation slate is a great choice for the roof and repeating the color but going deeper with Fired Brick for the door works well with a classic color like Mesa Tan.

An accent of blue is the perfect complement to the terra cotta roof. The Smokey Topaz main color doesn’t match the roof but rather visually blends because it is a similar value and tone.

When you think southwest style think DaVinci Roofscapes Sonora synthetic slate standard blend. It works beautifully with any desert or southwestern style. Then find desert-inspired colors for both your home’s exterior and interior at Sherwin Williams.

How is Benjamin Moore’s “Vintage Wine” doing? It was their color of the year. I’m waiting to see it in use. Any examples? Thanks.

A leak in your roof needs to be fixed right away, or it will lead to much worse things
than a stain on the ceiling or a puddle on the floor.
The soffit is the layer that can be seen as a ceiling
or as the layer that touches the top of the upper cabinets of the
    kitchen.
