Today’s color dilemma…
I have a north facing room with two large dark objects– the fireplace and the tv cabinet. The room is currently painted yellow, but I think I need a more neutral wall color for selling. I will probably put up blue drapes to replace the valances. Any suggestions for a lighter, brighter color? –fishface

Many are the clients whose biggest challenge is selecting paint colors for their wooden houses when they are “stuck” with partial brick or stone façades. In my experience, this can actually be a plus.
You see, replacing stone or brick is expensive. However, using these fixed features as your color inspiration, or seeing them as part of your overall color scheme, can help narrow down your color choices.
For example, if the majority of your house is shingle and/or clapboard and the entry area is brick, start by identifying

Hi, I don’t have a lot of money so here is my problem. My bathroom has a granite counter top in sandstone. The floor is carpeted in dark blue. The bathroom is medium size but without much lighting. Thank you, Mary
